the label on my tea bag today
The sad moment when you realize how alone you actually are. That no one ever messages you first or texts you first or anything. So it gets to the point where you don’t want to put in the effort with people who don’t put in any effort for you so you end up spending your life at home, never going anywhere.

every time i lose a follower i just wonder what was the last straw

If you laugh at jokes about raping people I will laugh at my fist punching your throat because sure it’s violent and demeaning but I think it’s funny so why aren’t you laughing get off the floor and stop whining I am trying to assert that my desire to make a joke out of your traumatic experience is more important than your pain it’s called Freedom of Speech read a book.

On Being Fat And Grocery Shopping:
I get hungry, just like you. My body needs food, just like yours. I got to the grocery store, just like you.But there seems to be something special about me. I’m fat. And, for whatever reason, because of this, there is something unseen and unspoken that says you get to look in my basket and judge what’s in it.
If I’m making my usual rounds at the local market, this means I start with bread, move to the bulk section, bounce over to cheese, produce, frozen, and then snacks. If you pass me on my way to frozen, you might think, “Good for her ! A nice sourdough, some granola, dried fruits… she’ll lose that weight in no time !” But, if you’re in line behind me, you might think, “Does she really need TWO different kinds of ice cream ??”
I, too, look in other people’s baskets. I’m a curious creature, it’s what I do. However, I don’t look in a person’s basket and police what they’re choosing to purchase. I like to create meals with what they have, or maybe get inspired to pick up something I may not have thought of myself (why am I the only person who never thinks to get yogurt ??).
Here’s the thing, folks: What I purchase, isn’t your business. That’s it. It’s really, really that simple. If it’s healthy, if it’s not. It’s not your business.I don’t have to tell you to consider that maybe I’m having a party, or that this food isn’t for me. Because it doesn’t matter if it is or isn’t. Your money isn’t paying for this. Mine is. Be curious all you want, but when you find yourself judging me based on my bag of chips or my tub of organic cherry tomatoes, switch focus to your own basket, cuz that’s kiiiinda what you came there for.
And, yes, I DO need TWO different kinds of ice cream. Duh ?

i miss the generations when a guy had to ask a girl out by asking her parents, where a girl could just be beautiful in a tshirt, where bubonic plagues decimated villages across europe and left a third of the population dead. reblog if u agree

superboyfriends:

when almost everyone on your dash follows each other so it’s the same post over and over for ten minutes

When you use the word ‘flummox,’ for instance, your tongue is rolling across the same territory of every person who has ever spoken that word. It carries every sentiment every person has ever meant when speaking that word, plus your own. They say that every third breath you breathe contains at least one of the same molecules Caesar exhaled as he was dying.

Muriel Rukeyser has said, ‘The world is made of stories, not atoms.’ Think of the words, then, the same words you breathe that have been inhaled and exhaled throughout history. If you’re looking for a link, there it is. They are only shapes and noises formed into meaning. How many shapes and noises have crossed the tongues of those who have come before? And this exact shape and noise has crossed centuries to come to you, fully formed … Words say simultaneously too much and too little. This is why they are perfect for communication, most people’s lives operating in the uncomfortable balance between too much and too little. Nothing more precise.

B.K. Loren, from “Word Hoard” in Parabola, v.28, no.3, August 2003 (via apoetreflects)

my dad ate a cucumber today and he was like “wow this is pretty cold” and then he just slowly put the cucumber down and stared into space for a really long time until he turned to me with wide eyes and quietly said, “oh my god. cool as a cucumber.”
